The administration of programs and services is an integral part of offender management. Offender programs and services can be developed and operated within an agency location, or they can be contracted out to privately operated service agencies.
All information for specific programs and associated courses or activities is caseload-specific. When programs are assigned to offenders, the program information is attached to the offender's booking/contact number. In effect, the program schedule is copied into the offender's schedule.
Offenders can be referred to programs, subject to approval before being assigned to a session. Then they are placed on a waiting list until the referral is either accepted or rejected. Accepted referrals can be assigned to the referred program or service.
In some facilities the referral process can be bypassed, allowing you to assign an offender to a program or service without first referring him/her and having the referral approved. This depends on your facility's business rules.
Each offender referral/assignment is tracked by a status that reflects its current state of affairs.
Pending (Referral screen): indicates that a referral has been created.
Accepted (Waiting List screen): when a referral is accepted, the status changes from pending to accepted.
Rejected (Waiting List screen): when a referral is rejected, the status changes from pending to rejected.
Assigned (Assign Offender screen): indicates an assignment to a specific program/service session.
Completed (Offender Progress & Results screen): indicates the successful completion of a program/service session.
Not Completed (Offender Progress & Results screen): indicates the permanent removal of an offender from a session before all scheduled attendance periods are reached (unsuccessful completion).
