Recording Bail/Bond

If bail has been set, the Bail/Bond screen records the standard amount(s) and type(s) set by the court. The Bail/Bond screen tracks bail against each charge related to an order. In general, the bail amount of an order is the total bail amount of all of the charges related to that order.

To apply bail/bond to an order:

  1. To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Institutions Legal Orders Bail.

  2. If necessary, Query in the Header block to locate the offender record.

  3. Click Next Block to move to the Orders block, which displays each bailable order (and each sentenced order) as recorded on the Appearance/Detainer Order screen. Bail is posted against orders rather than charges.

  4. Select the order that you want to apply bail/bond to; all of the charges associated with the selected order appear in the Charges block.

  1. Click Next Block and complete the Apply Bail/Bond block.

If the name you seek is not displayed on the Persons Inquiry screen, click New. This takes you to the Persons screen so you can enter the new person information. After filling out the required information, click Save. This brings the person's name to the Person field on the Bail/Bond screen.

  1. Click Save.

After you save, the Bail Status changes from A (Active) to B (Bail posted).

Repeat steps 3–4 to apply bail/bond for any other orders. If more than one order uses the same Company or Person information for bail, use the Copy From/Copy To checkboxes in the Orders block.
