You can record a discipline placement assignment with the Discipline Placement screen.
The Discipline Placement screen is the primary forum for entering details involving offenses in custody punishment (typically administrative segregation). For this reason, OIC Hearings and OIC Appeals buttons are provided so you can easily obtain penalty information useful for filling out this screen.
Depending on the TAG setup your facility has, the review date in the Discipline Placement screen can automatically initiate a request on the Requests screen, for a discipline placement review.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Institutions Classification Care in placement.
If necessary, query in the Header block to locate the offender. When the offender is located, the Offender Care in Placement block displays all active discipline placement assignments this offender has.
Click Next Block to access the Offender Care In Placement block. If necessary, bring up a blank record by clicking Insert (or scrolling to the end of the list with the arrow keys).
Fill in these fields:
Type: select from a List of Values the type of discipline placement.
Status: TAG automatically displays the status once you have saved.
Reason: select from a List of Values the reason for the discipline placement.
Location: select from a List of Values the location of discipline placement.
Requested By: select from a List of Values the party that requested the discipline placement.
At this point, you may need to access either the OIC Hearings button or OIC Appeals button for information. If there is information on either the Offense in Custody Hearings or Appeals screen, the button will be enabled; otherwise the button is "greyed out" and cannot be used.
OIC Hearings button: click the button and the Offenses in Custody Inquiry screen appears. View the information in the Penalties block and record it in the corresponding fields in the Discipline Placement screen.
OIC Appeals button: click the button and the Offenses in Custody Appeals screen appears. View the information in the Appeal Penalties block and record it in the corresponding fields in the Discipline Placement screen.
Effective Date: defaults to current date. To change the date, enter another using a MM\DD\YYYY format. The date must be the same as, or later than the current date.
Duration: select from a List of Values the duration of the discipline placement.
Expiry Date: TAG calculates and displays the expiry date for your selected duration, once you have saved.
Comment: type in a comment regarding the discipline placement; optional.
Days on CIP: TAG calculates and displays the days the offender has served in discipline placement, once you have saved.
Authorized By: select from a List of Values the party that authorized the discipline placement.
Revoked By: select from a List of Values the party that revoked the discipline placement. This field is used to end a discipline placement before the expiry date. See the sub-topic link below on ending discipline placement.
Review Date: type in a review date for the discipline placement; use standard date format.
Click Save. The Status field now reads Active, and the Verified field reads N[o]. Once an offender has an active assignment, it will automatically display whenever you call up this offender's record on this screen.
You may still have to verify the placement.
You may need to move the offender to a more secure housing location.
