Automatically Initiated Requests

You can automatically initiate requests from three TAG screens: Assessment, Offenses in Custody Appeals, and Discipline Placement.

For example, when you enter an offender review date in the Offense in Custody Appeals screen and save, a request record automatically displays in the Request screen for that offender, for that date. The offense in custody appeal reason becomes the request type. The status of the request is open.

The Date field and the Type field in each of the Assessment, Offenses in Custody Appeals, and Discipline Placement screens automatically initiate each request date and request type. Here are how the date and type fields are specifically labeled for each screen, and other details.

Offense in Custody Appeals

In the Offenses in Custody Appeals screen, the Review Date becomes the request date. The Review Date must be manually entered on the Offenses in Custody Appeals screen.

The Appeal Reason becomes the request type.

Assessment

In the Assessment screen, the Assessment Date becomes the request date. The Assessment Date must be manually entered on the Assessment screen.

The Assessment Type becomes the request type.

Discipline Placement

In the Discipline Placement screen, the Review Date becomes the request date. The Review Date must be manually entered on the Discipline Placement screen.

The Discipline Placement Type becomes the request type, and the Discipline Placement Reason becomes the request reason.

With the Discipline Placement screen, automatically initiated requests can create ongoing discipline placement reviews. Ongoing reviews must be set up by your TAG administrator, and start when you type in a review date in the Discipline Placement screen. This automatically initiates a request with an open status on the Request screen. When you deal with the request (e.g. by scheduling a review), then the request status changes (e.g. from open to active). Any change of request status from an open status, automatically displays a new offender review date in the Discipline Placement screen. This new offender review date then automatically generates another request in the Request screen. When you look at the Request screen, you will have two requests for two Discipline Placement reviews.

When a date automatically displays on the Discipline Placement screen from the Request screen (i.e. the request status has changed from open status), it may be days or months later than the date on the Request screen. This is because your TAG administrator has set up specific time periods that fall between reviews. For example, a segregation punishment of three months may be reviewed every month. Therefore, when a date automatically displays on the Discipline Placement screen from the Request screen, it may be one month later than the date in the Request screen.
