The Main Menu is used to select the TAG screens you need to use. Once you have selected a screen, you can control and manipulate what you see on that screen with TAG commands. TAG gives you three different ways to select these commands:
At the top of every TAG screen, the menu bar lists all commands. You select a command by choosing (highlighting) it with the mouse.
Just below the menu bar, the tool bar has buttons for almost all commands you can perform. You select a command by clicking on the button with the mouse.
Each TAG command has a corresponding key combination on your keyboard. You can select a command by pressing the designated key(s).
The TAG toolbar is grouped by command function. From left to right, the first group of buttons allows you to save information or print a copy of the screen. The second group allows you to move around the screen. The third group lets you change what appears on the screen. The fourth group helps you fill in screen information. The last group lets you cancel commands and exit a screen.
Most of the commands you need can be performed by using the toolbar buttons. Some basic navigation commands can be selected with the menu or keyboard only — they don't appear on the toolbar. If you are comfortable using the keyboard to select all TAG commands, the Help Keys menu item will display the command keys at your site. This manual cannot show all the command keys on your keyboard, because each site is set up differently depending on the equipment in place. You should have a keyboard template that identifies your command keys. Commands you need that are not selectable from the toolbar will, of course, be covered here.
