All changes you make on a screen are temporary until you commit them to the database. You commit changes by selecting the Save command. You can only save changes if you have update access to that information, so make sure you are on the right screen!
Don't make the mistake of entering information into the database while in query mode. Always check the Status bar to make sure the screen is in viewing mode before making updates.
Click on the Save button, or select Save from the menu, to commit your updates to the system. When you have successfully saved a change to an offender's file, a message like this will display in the Status bar:
If you try to leave a screen without saving changes, TAG has a safeguard to make sure you're not losing anything. You'll see this window appear:
Select Yes to save your changes. You are returned to the Main Menu after TAG displays the save message in a dialog box.
Select No to go directly to the Main Menu without saving.
Select Cancel to remain at your current screen without saving.
