Changing TAG Screens

No matter which screen you work with on TAG, you will want to perform one of two basic tasks:

The "change" buttons on the toolbar are used to add, remove and clear records, and to select which database records to view on the screen.

 

Query: Selects which database records to view.

Insert Record: Moves from an existing record to a blank new record. You can cancel by selecting the Clear Record command.

Remove Record: Deletes the selected record from the database.

Clear Record: Clears the selected record from view. Use Clear Record if you started to insert a record but changed your mind before saving.

Any changes made to the database are "temporary" until you save the changes. If the screen you are on doesn't give you update authority, you will not be allowed to save changes and, in many cases, actions like inserting or removing a record will not be allowed. See Saving Information.
