This section covers all situations where offenders are removed from the custody of your facility.
When an offender is released, the TAG Release screen changes the offender’s status from active-in to inactive-out, records the offender’s OUT movement, and reduces your institutional count by one. TAG can also record if individuals or other agencies require notification of a release.
When an offender is transferred, the system records the offender’s OUT movement and reduces your institutional count by one. If the transfer is within your own jurisdiction and the receiving institution also uses TAG, the system can transfer the offender record over. If the transfer is outside your jurisdiction, TAG records the jurisdiction that is assuming custody. TAG has special screens for both scheduled and unscheduled transfers.
When an offender escapes, TAG records the date and time, changes the offender’s status from active-in to inactive-out and reduces your institutional count by one. Later, when the offender is returned to your custody, additional detail that will impact the offender’s sentence is entered on an Escape/Recapture screen.
