Recording Escapes

You record an escape by releasing the offender. The release should be done as soon as possible after the escape to keep the institutional count current. Later, you may need to record the escape details. The escape details aren’t as time sensitive as the escape release, and can be entered into the system anytime before recording the recapture of the offender. To record an escape:

  1. Release the offender. This records the event date and time, and changes the offender’s status to Inactive-Out.

  2. Record the escape details and the Escape Registration Number.
