The Requests screen records and tracks the production of specific documents or reports, such as a pre-sentence investigation report.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Community Orders/Request Requests

Click the Investigation Requests button on the Legal Cases screen.
When the Request screen is accessed from the Legal Cases screen, the court event selected on it automatically shows in the Event block. If necessary, query to select the desired event.
The Offenses block automatically shows all existing offenses for the event selected in the Event block, listed in the order in which they were recorded on the Legal Cases screen. The Orders/Requests field indicates the number of related orders/requests recorded against the currently selected offense (zero if none have yet been allocated). To see what they are, click on the List of Values to display the Orders/Requests Allocated Against This Offense pop-up window.
The Requests block records and displays individual requests, listed by Line # (automatically filled in when the file is saved). To record a request, fill in as much information as you can.
Type: select a report type from the List of Values; mandatory.
Code: select a request code from the List of Values; mandatory.
Description: fills automatically when a code is selected.
Related Offenses: displays the number of offenses recorded against this request. The number of related offenses defaults to the total number of offenses listed in the Offenses block (the number of lines, not counts). Click the List of Values to access the Offenses Related To This Order/Request window, where you can add or delete offenses.
Commence Date: defaults to the Date in the Event block; cannot be earlier than this date. To change the commence date, enter another using a MM\DD\YYYY format.
DTBF (Date To Be Fixed): select this checkbox if the expiry date of the request has not yet been fixed. If selected, you cannot record a date in the Expiry Date field.
Expiry Date: if the DTBF checkbox is not selected, you can record a date for the expiry of the report. To enter an expiry date, use a MM\DD\YYYY format.
Report Due Date: the date that the court will have possession of the report; defaults to a system-calculated date based on the selected request. This date allows enough time for you to send the report out to be transcribed and delivered back, plus enough time for the report to be delivered to the court (after it has been received back from transcription).
You can type in a report due date, but it must be later than the commence date; optional.
Click Save.
After the save:
You will get a message asking you if you want to assign the request to an officer with primary ownership of this offender work, if primary ownership has been previously assigned. Click on Yes or No.
The system derives and displays the Line # (next available whole number in sequence for this offender). The numbering sequence is shared between orders and requests.
The status reads Active.
Request records can be modified but not deleted.
