Step 2 in the booking process
Step 2 for creating a community contact
The Assign Offender Number screen is used to create a new offender record on TAG where none previously exists. This is where the offender's unique identifier number is assigned. This screen is used to assign an offender unique identifier for either the institutional or community application of TAG.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Search/Assign Assign Off. ID #.
Complete the following fields:
Surname, First Name, Middle Name.
Suffix (Jr., Sr. III, etc.): select from the List of Values; optional. (May not appear in your jurisdiction.)
Gender: List of Values available.
Date of Birth.
City/Town of Birth.
Country of Birth: List of Values available.
Identifier Source field: List of Values available. You have 2 options:
Let TAG produce the ID#: Choose System Sequence and click Save. TAG assigns the next available number to the offender.
Assign your own ID#: Choose User Assigned, click the ID# field, enter the number , then click Save.
When you save, TAG looks for any matches of last name/year of birth. If it finds any, you see a warning message but you can continue. If the unique offender ID# was user-entered, TAG won't save if the same offender ID# already exists. You can't edit this information here, but you can on ALIASES AND OTHER IDENTIFIERS for everything except the offender ID#.
Click Next Block. Depending on whether you are doing institutional or community work, this will take you directly to the:
Admission screen, where you can admit the offender to your institution.
Intake screen where you activate an offender record for community service staff work.
