TAG includes a "safety" screen, Delete Orders, that can be used to delete erroneous offender order information. You should only use this screen if you've made a mistake in entering an offender's order(s). (When any date-sensitive order reaches its expiry date, TAG changes the status of that order to inactive. Once all sentences associated with an order have expired, the order itself is deactivated automatically.)
You should delete an order only under the most extreme circumstances:
The key identifiers for any order are the Info Number and the Type (both entered in the Orders block). If, after you save this screen, you discover that either the Info Number or Type is wrong, you must delete the order and completely re-enter it on the Appearance/Detainer Order screen (including all charges).
If any information in the Order Charges block is wrong (statute, offence, etc.), you must delete the offence only, and reenter it on the Appearance/Detainer Order screen (Charges block). You don't have to delete the entire order in this case.
If an order must be corrected, but at least one charge in the order has a sentence, you must delete the sentence first.
When deleting, remember that the lowest block containing data is always the first to be deleted.
To delete an order:
Select Institutions Legal orders Delete order from the Main Menu.
If necessary, locate the offender record in the Header block.
Press Next Block to move to the Orders block.
Using the arrow keys, scroll to the order to be deleted.
Press Next Block to scroll to the Order Charges block.
Highlight each listed charge with the arrow keys, and press the Delete key. This erases all listed charges.
Press Save.
Press Previous Block to scroll back up to the Orders block.
With the selected order highlighted, press the Delete key. This erases the order.
Press Save.
The deletion is now complete. You must still re-enter the order correctly on the Appearance Order screen.
