Deleting Sentences

Sentences can be deleted on the Delete Orders screen. You should use this screen only if you've made a mistake in entering an offender's sentence(s). (When a sentence expires, TAG automatically changes the status of the sentence to inactive, and it should be deleted.) Delete a sentence only if:

If neither case applies, but the sentence details are wrong, you can correct them on the Sentence Warrant screen.

To delete a sentence:

  1. Select Institutions Legal orders Delete orders from the Main Menu.

  2. If necessary, locate the offender record in the Header block.

  3. Use the Next Block key to scroll to the Orders block.

  4. Using the arrow keys, scroll to the order to be deleted.

  5. Press Next Block to scroll to the Sentence Details block.

  6. Highlight the sentence with the arrow keys, and press the Delete key. This erases the sentence information.

  7. Press Save.

  8. Press Previous Block to scroll to the Order Charges block.

  9. In the Order Charges block, highlight each listed charge with the arrow keys, and press the Delete key. This erases all listed charges.

  10. Press Save.

  11. Press Previous Block to scroll back up to the Orders block.

  12. With the selected order highlighted, press the Delete key. This erases the order.

  13. Press Save.

  14. The deletion is now complete. You must also still reenter the sentence on the Sentence Warrant screen.
