Recording a Request

With the Request screen, you can record requests from offenders, and staff or agencies. You can also record initial dispositions of those requests, and schedule reviews of those dispositions. In addition, you can query on an offender and see his/her entire request history including dispositions and reviews.

The request process can be different for each request. Some requests have dispositions before going to review, and others go straight to review. A request can be "referred," and discharged on the basis of the referred authority's recommendation. For example, if an offender makes a request for a special diet, the offender may be referred to a nutritionist who will determine whether the offender needs the special diet. If the nutritionist recommends the special diet, then the request will be granted, and "discharged." A review will not be necessary.

You will probably not fill out the whole screen at one sitting, as each entry of information may need to be considered before the next entry of information.

It is possible for you to record a disposition, or schedule a review, at a different time, on a different request screen. TAG screens in the request process are linked, so information entered on one screen, will automatically display in the associated fields of another request screen.

Each request should have one disposition (if at all), one review, and one result. However, many dispositions, reviews and results can be entered for one request.
