When an offender is booked at your institution, a great deal of information is recorded on TAG:
a unique ID number is assigned to the offender
the offender’s record is activated to indicate that this is a current incarceration
a housing location is assigned
if your site uses TAG Trust Accounting, a trust account is opened
extensive biographical and physical descriptions of the offender are recorded
since the system must track the movements of all active offenders, a movement record is created for the admission
the newly-booked offender is added to the institutional count
When you book an offender, you'll be using most of the screens on the Search/assign menu, and on the Institutions Booking menu.
In some cases, you may need to add many new offenders to TAG quickly, and add the booking details later. Use the Offender Quick Book screen to add offenders in a batch.
