The offender’s working name is the name that appears in the Header block whenever you access that person’s record. You may need to change this name if there is a spelling mistake, or if you discover that the displayed working name is actually an alias.
To make any changes to a working name, go to the Aliases and Other Identifiers screen.
For institutional work, select Institutions Booking Alias/other ID# to access this screen from the Main Menu.
For community work, select Community Intake Aliases/other identifiers from the Main Menu.
The Aliases block displays all known names or aliases of the offender.
No matter how many names are listed, the offender can have only one working name, which is designated by a check in the Working Name checkbox.
The Identifiers block records offender identification, such as a driver’s license or birth certificate, that provides evidence that the designated working name is correct.
To correct spelling in the working name:
In the Aliases block, click on the working name.
Make the changes. You can also correct the birthdate here.
Click on Save. The Header block immediately changes to reflect your update.
If the working name is an alias:
Scroll to the name that you wish to be the working name (or add it if it is not listed).
Click on the WN button to the right of the Working Name checkbox.
A dialog box pops up asking if you wish to save the changes. Click on the Yes button. The Header block immediately changes to the new working name.
