Capturing an Image

To capture an image from the Image window:

  1. In the Orientation block, choose the type of image you wish to take from the Image view list box. The type of image refers to the orientation (front, profile etc.) of the image. The default type is Front; always take the Front image first.

  2. Click Capture. The Image Capture screen appears, and the image is live. When TAG Imaging is in live mode for image capture, the monitor acts as the camera viewfinder displaying whatever the camera is recording that instant. You can then freeze an image on the monitor to confirm it is of acceptable quality before you save it.

  1. Compose or frame your image while viewing the monitor.

  1. When the image meets your standards for proper image capture, click on the Freeze button.

  2. Confirm that the image is of acceptable quality. If it is not, continue switching between Live and Freeze until the image is satisfactory.

  1. Click OK to capture the image.

  2. After saving the image you are returned to the Images window, where the image is displayed along with the capture date/time and unique Image ID.

Tip: If a saved image is not of sufficient quality to keep, click Recapture. This brings up the Image Capture screen where you can recapture the image.

If you haven’t captured an image after 2 minutes, the capture screen “times out” to save system resources. A message appears reading “No response...” If you need more time to capture the image, click on OK. If you click Cancel, the image you tried to capture will not be saved to the database.
