Just to the right of the image is a column of buttons, which operate the image capture. You can click on these buttons with the mouse, as listed below:
Live: The monitor displays the image in live mode. When TAG Imaging is in live mode for image capture, the monitor acts as the camera viewfinder, displaying whatever the camera is recording that instant. You can then freeze an image on the monitor to confirm it is of acceptable quality before you save it.
Freeze: “Freezes” an image on the monitor. In TAG Imaging, during image capture an image can be “frozen” on the monitor to confirm it is of acceptable quality.
Ok: Saves the image on the screen to the database.
Cancel: Returns you to the Images window without saving.
At the right of the screen, the Video Setup box provides a number of options for enhancing the exposure of the image before it is saved:
Brightness: the luminosity of the color on a scale from black (far left of the slider) to white (far right of the slider).
Contrast: difference of reflectance between various parts of the image, from darkest (far left of the slider) to brightest (far right of the slider).
Saturation: the purity of color, moving from gray (far left of the slider) to the pure color (far right of the slider).
Hue: the position of the color along the color spectrum.
Sharpness: the clarity of the image.
All these items are set to factory-programmed default values when they first appear on the screen. If you make any changes, you can revert back to the factory settings by clicking on the Reset button at the bottom of the box.
Also in the Video Setup box, you can change these system settings:
Auto Iris: an automatic focus setting, if you have an auto-focus camera.
Standard: in North America, defaults to NTSC (National Television Standards Committee), the video standard for American color TV broadcast signals. Outside North America, defaults to PAL (Phase Alternating Line), the international video standard.
Input Type: switches between different signal types; defaults to the type generated by your equipment. Special attachments may be required to connect other devices to your capture workstation.
