The Victims and Witnesses screen is one of many demographic screens used when performing an intake to activate an offender's file for community work. Use the Victims and Witnesses screen to enter information about victims or witnesses associated with the offender being processed.
This screen is also called by the Victims/Witnesses button in the Cases block of the Legal Cases screen. Use it to enter additional information about victims or witnesses for the case selected in the Case block.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Community Intake Case Victims/Witnesses.
If necessary, query to locate the offender.
Click Next Block to access the Victims/Witnesses block.
To add a new record, fill in these fields:
Corporate ID/Person or ID/Description: select from the List of Values in one field or the other; optional.
Case/Info #: if you have come from the Legal Cases screen, this field fills automatically with the data from the Case/Info # field in the Cases block of the Legal Cases screen.
Relationship to Case: select Witness or Victim from the List of Values; mandatory. Victims can be persons or corporate entities. Witnesses are normally persons.
Comment: type in a descriptive comment; optional.
Person Details button: click the Person Details button to open the Person Search/Update screen where you can view or record information about a selected person.
Corporate Details button: click the Corporate Details button to open the Maintain Agencies/Corporations screen where you can view or record information about a selected corporate entity.
