Modifying a Community Case Plan

Use the Case Plan screen to make changes to an existing case plan.

You can only make changes to the current case plan, and only if the offender is attached to a location in which you have update authority.

If you modify only the Case Plan block, TAG does not create a new plan version because you haven't changed the detail of the plan. However, if you modify any other block or the Casework Steps, TAG generates a new case plan version by closing out the previous version, and creating a new version.

Deleting a case plan is not permitted.

  1. To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Community Case Management Case Plan.

  2. If necessary, query in the Header block to locate the offender.

If there are previous case plan versions for the offender, they automatically display in the Case Plan block, in order of Create Date, with the active or most recent plan first. To see the last edit date/time/user ID stamp, hold the mouse cursor in the farthest right column.

Making changes without creating a new case plan

If you make changes only in the Case Plan block, TAG will not create a new plan version when you save your changes.

  1. Select the current case plan (on the top line of the Case Plan block).

  1. Make your changes. These are the fields in the Case Plan block that you can change:

  1. Click Save.

Making changes that result in a new case plan

If you make changes in the Assessment Summary or Plan Detail blocks, or Casework Steps, TAG will create a new plan version when you save your changes.

  1. Select the current case plan by clicking on it (on the top line of the Case Plan block).

  1. Make your changes. You can change the following:

Assessment Summary block: you can add or delete a Category, as well as change/delete the Summary Text.

Plan Detail block: you can add goals and change the Target Date and Narrative. You cannot delete goals.

Casework Steps: you can add a casework step or change the comment. You cannot delete a casework step.

  1. Click Save.

After you save, the system closes out the previous version and creates a new one, following these rules:

  1. The previous version moves from the top line to the second line in the Case Plan block.

  1. The new version is displayed on the top line.
