Changing Your Password

You should change your password on a regular basis, because keeping it confidential is crucial to system security. When you choose your password, try to avoid meaningful combinations of letters and numbers. Don't use actual words or significant numbers, such as your birthdate or street name.

To change your password

You change your password on the Change System Password screen.

  1. To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Utilities Change Password .

  2. Enter your Old Password in the Old Password field. For security reasons, the password does not appear on the screen.

  3. Enter your New Password in the New Password field.

  4. As an additional check, the system requires you to enter your New Password again in the Verification field.

  5. Click Save.

  6. After a successful password change, log off all your TAG sessions and log back in again. Otherwise, some aspects of TAG will not function correctly.

Legal characters for passwords are A-Z, 1-9 and the _ sign. Passwords must begin with an alphabetic character (i.e., A-Z), and they must be 20 characters or less in length.
