Use the Schedule Court Movements screen to keep a record of offenders' court appointments.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Institution Schedules Sched. Court Moves.
The fields in the upper block, such as date or type of hearing, allow you to restrict the court movements shown,and to establish defaults for the schedule(s) you set up.
To Schedule a Court Movement:
Complete one or more of the following in the upper block:
Date: Mandatory. Enter a date (MM/DD/YYYY).
Time: Enter a time (HH:MM).
Institution: Select an institution within your caseload from the List of Values (LOV).
Reason: Select a reason from the LOV.
Court: Select a specific court from the LOV.
Judge: Enter the name of a particular judge.
Click Query/Find to locate an offender.
The Offender Schedules Block lists court schedules matching the criteria selected. (Court Schedules appearing in this block are set up either on this screen itself, or on the Appearance Order screen.)
Click Next Block to move to the Offender Schedules Block.
To enter a new court schedule, enter Insert or click a blank line.
Enter a valid ID# and press Tab; the offender's name and current institution appear in the relevant fields.
OR
When unsure of the offender's ID#, click the ID# LOV to bring up the Name Search screen:
On the Name Search screen, Query/Find to locate the offender record, then click the offender's name and press enter. TAG returns you to the Schedule Court Movements screen, where the offender's data is automatically displayed in the Offender Schedules Block.
Complete the remaining fields in the Offender Schedules block:
Reason: Mandatory. Defaults to the reason given in the upper block (if any). Select a reason from the LOV.
Court: Mandatory. Defaults to the court selected in the upper block (if any). Select a court from the LOV.
Time: Mandatory. Defaults to the court entered in the upper block (if any). Enter a time (HH/MM).
Judge: Optional. Type the name of the presiding judge.
VC and TR: The labels on these two check boxes are defined by your System Administrator. The check boxes display the conditions determined by your jurisdiction. For instance, VC indicates the offender is to attend court via video-conference; and TR indicates transportation is needed to move the offender. Select the checkbox to set a condition, or Clear it to remove one.
Com(ment): Click in this column to bring up an edit box which allows you to enter a brief note regarding the court schedule.
Click Save.
Click Quit.
