When you release an offender’s property to an outside person with the offender’s consent, dispose of unclaimed items to designated recipients, or hand an offender’s property to outside agencies or courts, you dispose of the offender’s property to that agency or person. You have to go through these steps for each location the property is in: transferring property from the offender’s cell and from each container.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Institutions Property Dispose Property.
If necessary, query in the Header block to locate the offender’s record.
Click Next Block to access the Disposal Information block.
Complete these fields:
From Status: (List Of Values available) select CELL or STORED
Container: if you are disposing of STORED property, the offender’s property container(s) appear here. Dispose of each container separately.
To Offender: Checkbox is clear (default). Leave at default.
To Person: select the receiving person (List of Values available). Leave blank if you are disposing to an agency. If the person you are looking for is not listed, the person will have to be added to your person list with the Persons screen.
To Agency: select the receiving agency (List of Values available). Leave blank if you are disposing to a person. If the agency you are looking for is not listed, the agency will have to be added to your agency list. See your supervisor.
Confirm All Items: If you are transferring all listed items, check here. If only certain items are being transferred, go to step 5.
Comment: optional additional text entry
If you are disposing only certain items, click Next Block to access the Item Information block. In the Conf[irm] field, check the checkbox next to each transferred item.
Click Save. TAG changes the status of items to DISPOSED.
If you are changing the status of items in a container with a seal attached, TAG automatically removes the seal.
