Container contents or seals can be verified at any time on the Verify Container Contents screen. TAG creates verification records against individual containers to record that checks have been made. You can update this screen while the offender is inactive or active at another agency location.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Institutions Property Verify Container Contents.
If necessary, query in the Header block to locate the offender’s record.
Click Next Block to access the Property Container block, which displays all active property containers (container Id, Type, Description and current Location).
Using the arrow keys, select the container to be verified. As each container is selected, the previous verification (if any) appears in the Container Verification block below.
Click Next Block to access the Container Verification block. The current Date/Time appears, and the cursor is in the Trans column. If the container is sealed, the Seal Mark displays. Items in this container are listed in the Item Verification block below.
In the Trans column, select the transaction type using the List of Values. Your options are VC (verify contents) or VS (verify seal). (If the container is not currently sealed, VS does not appear.) You can also add a Comment.
If you are verifying items, click Next Block to access the Item Verification block. The cursor is in the Conf[irm] checkbox. Scroll down the list of items with the arrow keys, and check every verified item.
Press Save.
If you verify the contents of a container with a seal attached, the seal is automatically broken. If you notice an item is missing, change the status of that item from stored to MISSING on the Transact Property Items screen.
Once you save a verification record, it may not be modified or deleted. If you need to retract a verification record, you need to re-verify the container contents and enter an audit-trail explanation in the Comment field.
