Step 2 of recording a recapture.
When an escaped offender is recaptured, that offender’s current escape record must be updated to record the recapture. If the escape details haven’t been entered yet, you have to enter them first, before you can enter the recapture details.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Institutions Movements Escape/Recapt. .
If necessary, query in the Header block to locate the offender record.
Complete the Escape block.
Escape Date: record the date of the escape using a MM\DD\YYYY format.
Escape Time: record the time of the escape using an HH:MM format.
From Custody: record who had custody at the time of the escape; List of Values available.
From Loc[atio]n: record where the offender escaped from; List of Values available.
Circumstance: List of Values available.
Comment: (optional) record a brief detail of the escape incident.
Last Seen Date and Time: record the time last seen.
In Company: Check if multiple offenders were involved in the escape.
Adjust Sentence: Check if a sentence adjustment will be necessary.
Escape Registration Number: Fill in your registration number for this escape. (If this escape involves multiple offenders, use the same number on each offender’s escape record.)
Click Save.
Click the Record Completion button in the Escape block. This brings up the Escape/Recapture Record Completion window:
Complete the fields in the window:
Security Level Breached: List of Values available.
Recaptured By: List of Values available.
Recapture Date: fill in; use standard date format.
[Recapture] Time: fill in.
Click Save.
Click Quit (Exit) to return to the Escape/Recapture screen.
The Security Level Breached, Recaptured By, Recapture Date and Time fields display the information entered on the Escape/Recapture Record Completion window
The Readmission Date/Time, Location and Comment fields display the re-admission booking record.
The recapture admission must be recorded before you record the recapture details. If the offender’s status isn’t Active-In, you must perform step 1 of the recapture procedure first.
