When any date-sensitive order reaches its expiry date, TAG changes the status of that order to inactive. Once all sentences associated with an order have expired, the order itself is deactivated automatically.
There is no impact on the TAG sentence calculation procedure (which identifies the date of release) when any one of an offender’s sentences becomes inactive.
If an order is modified to push the expiry date into the future, the status automatically reflects the change.
When the release of an offender is attempted, the Release screen checks to ensure that all associated order expiry dates are less than or equal to the release date. In this circumstance, the release processing includes deactivation of the orders. If the offender is to be released where orders have an active status, the release processing warns you that active orders exist, and asks you if you wish to continue.
