Using the TAG Imaging module, you can capture multiple offender images of faces, profiles and physical marks using a standard video camera. All images are stored alongside data recorded in other TAG modules in one offender record, making all offender information accessible at one source. Video imaging eliminates your agency’s need to buy cameras and film, process or develop photographs, maintain paper files or compile mugbooks by hand.
TAG Imaging has five components:
Maintain: you can view and maintain images of individual offenders at any time.
Capture: you can capture images during the booking process or at any other time.
Import: you can use an external portable digital camera for offsite capture capability. Then the image can be imported and attached to an existing record.
Export: you can export an image to a disk for future use, for example, to display the image in an e-mail or web page.
Reports: your site may have a number of reports that can be printed with images.
Syscon also provides the TAG Image Display System (IDS), a comprehensive image search and display system for conducting searches across any set of search parameters, conduct witness-viewing sessions, create image ‘folders’ or generate lineups.
The capture and production of consistently good images is easily attainable with your equipment. You may need to experiment a little when your workstation is initially set up, to find the optimum settings for image quality. Beyond this, only minor adjustments should ever be necessary and your procedures will quickly become standardized.
