Adding the Contact Name

Because every name entered on TAG is saved, the contact you wish to enter may already be listed. You should therefore do a search on the contact name. The Personal and Professional Contacts screen is already in query mode, ready to search. To add a contact to an offender:

  1. In the Last Name field, click on List of Values. This brings up a Persons window.

  2. Type in the contact’s Last Name. You can narrow your search by filling in other fields in the Persons window, or do a wildcard search.

  3. Click on Find (Query). TAG returns all contacts matching your search criteria. If more than one contact is returned, the names are stacked in alphabetical order. (John Smith appears after James Smith.) Use the arrow keys to scroll through the list. The Count field in the status bar indicates the number of records retrieved.

  4. If the contact you are looking for is listed:

a) Click on that name to select it.

  1. If the contact you are looking for is not listed, you need to add the name:

a) In the Persons window, click on List of Values. This brings up a blank record.

b) Enter the contact’s name, and fill out as much information as you can.

c) Click Save.

  1. Click Quit to the Contacts block.
