Name Search in Trust Accounting

TAG Trust Accounting contains a special Name Search screen that is accessed from ID# or Name fields. All offender records included in the caseload on which you are currently logged can be retrieved using this screen. Whenever you are in a field that can access Name Search, the hint text at the bottom of the screen informs you of this.

To use Name Search:

  1. Go to an ID# or Name field and click on List of Values. When you first bring up this screen, it is in query mode, ready for you to search the TAG database to locate offender records. The cursor is in the Last Name field.

  2. To search on a Last Name, type it in and click on Find (Query). (If you’re using the menu or keyboard instead of the toolbar, select Execute Query.) You can also search on First Name or ID#. To view a complete list of offenders with open trust accounts in this caseload, don’t fill any field in: just click on Find (Query).

The screen automatically displays only open trust accounts (the Closed checkbox is unchecked). Each offender’s Institution, Status (A - active, or I - inactive) and Regular Account Balance appears. To view closed trust accounts, check the Closed checkbox and click on Find (Query).

  1. To select a record, click the name, and then click Quit (Exit). You are returned to the screen from which you accessed Name Search, where your selected record now appears.

If you found no records and want to leave the screen without selecting a record, click Quit (Exit) twice: first to cancel query mode, and then to exit Name Search.
