If an offender has a visit restriction, the Offender Restrictions window automatically pops up when you try to move to the Visitors block on either the Schedule Visits and Record Visits screens. The middle block of both screens also has a Restrictions field that reads Y[es] if the offender is restricted. If it reads Y[es], you can view Offender Restrictions here by clicking List of Values.
Multiple restrictions are listed most recent first.
To allow the visit to proceed: Click Quit (Exit) to return to the Main Menu, and continue with the visit process.
To add a new restriction
In the Restrictions field in the Appointments block, click on the List of Values.
If other restrictions exist, click in a blank line (or scroll with the down arrow key to a blank record). Any number of restrictions can be added.
Complete these fields:
Date of Restriction: defaults to the current date. To change the date, enter another using a MM\DD\YYYY format.
Expiry Date: fill in; use standard date format. For an indefinite restriction, enter 01/01/3000 (which signifies that the restriction will never expire).
Type: List of Values available.
Summary Text: optional; provide an explanation of the restriction.
Entered by: is automatically filled in with your user ID.
Click Save.
Click Quit (Exit) to return to the Main Menu.
To remove a restriction: Change the Expiry Date to yesterday's date and click Save. The restriction is removed but remains in the historical record.
