When offenders are transferred from your institution to another within your jurisdiction, their property containers can be transferred with them, using the Transfer Property Container screen. You can transfer entire sealed containers or break them open before shipment to verify contents. Either way, TAG continually tracks the status of both items and seals. TAG also allows the transfer of an ‘empty’ container if it has not been deactivated. You can update this screen while the offender is inactive, or active at another agency location.
To access this screen from the Main Menu, select Institutions Property Transfer Containers.
If necessary, query in the Header block to locate the offender’s record.
Click Next Block to access the Property Container block. All the offender’s active containers (including empty ones) are listed.
Fill these fields for each container being transferred:
Transfer To: (List of Values available) select the transfer location
Prop[erty] Only: select this checkbox if the offender is not being transferred out with the property
Click Save. TAG changes the status of all items within the container to TRANSIT, and “frees” the container’s property storage location.
Items with a status of TRANSIT may not be transacted at the sending agency. If it is necessary to retract a transfer record, the receiving agency will have to transfer the containers back to the originating agency.
